President’s Report

This is an exciting time to be involved in Executive Women International!  As discussed at the Leadership Conference and Annual Meeting, our Corporate Board is committed to moving this organization forward.  They have some innovative ideas and we look forward to hearing what programs they have in mind for our group.  

As we all know, the EWI Mission states: 

 "Executive Women International brings together key individuals from diverse businesses for the purpose of:  promoting member firms, enhancing personal and professional development and encouraging community involvement."  

The Corporate Board brainstormed and came up with a streamlined method for members to remember the EWI Mission Statement:  The “three C’s”  - Connections, Careers and Communities.  This will be an easier way for us to remember the three components of our mission. 

 Locally, we are excited to continue our work with Manzano High School Library on their re-organization project.  Our Philanthropy Chair, Valerie McGlasson, will post (on this website) the dates that they will have available for us to volunteer to work on the project.  I hope you will take the opportunity to volunteer and I think we are making a difference in the library and ultimately in the lives of the students. 

At our last meeting, our Ways and Means Chair, Sharon Thorpe, announced the date for our annual Spring Tea.  It will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2008.  More information on this event will be forthcoming on this website.  Mark your calendar and make plans to attend!

This year will be busy with many opportunities for our membership to get involved in our organization and in our community.  I’m looking forward to a great 2008!
