Make a Wish Foundation December 3rd-5th we partnered with Make-A-Wish Foundation (MAWF) to help raise over $4500.00 for their 17th Annual Holiday Gingerbread House Competition. The proceeds will go towards granting the wishes of kids with a life threatening illness. It was truly a magical weekend filled with creative beautiful gingerbread houses made by Professional bakers to charming little houses with gumdrop rooftops made by kids, all for a good cause. There was a four foot Gingerbread house with a larger than life Gingerbread man (straight out of Shrek), next to it was a divine Chocolate Castle complete with Chocolate Gargoyles, a whimsical Castle made of pure Sugar , an Orchestra of Penguins, a Pretzel Log cabin with its own Ski lift and a very patriotic Twin Towers made with red and blue M&Ms complete with the American Flag which you could tell was made with so much love by the little hands of a very proud kid. It was amazing to see all the creativity and hard work put into these houses. There were kids who beamed with pride as they showed their friends and families the houses they worked so hard on. I remember one little girl dressed in pink about seven years old who scoured the table for her house when she spotted it her eyes lit up and she proudly pointed it out to her mom then when she noticed it had a Sold sign she jumped up and down so triumphant that someone bought her little house. It was so endearing to see the amazement on everyone's faces, especially the kids who licked their lips and stood open-mouthed gazing at these houses made of every kind of candy they've ever dreamed of.
