The Albuquerque Chapter

>>The Albuquerque chapter of Executive Women International was founded in 1978.

>>Over 50 firms are receiving the benefits from participation in the Albuquerque EWI chapter. The chapter mission statement guides member participation and chapter activities:
>>The Albuquerque chapter of Executive Women International is an organization of business professionals whose purpose is promote their business and represent member firms, providing opportunities for business and personal growth and contributing to the community. The chapter’s activities dovetail with objectives and programs of the National organization when appropriate and feasible.

Membership — Professional diversity is the key to EWI.
>>The Albuquerque chapter of EWI strives for top quality in their member firms and representatives. The chapter maintains a roster of diverse, quality, local firms, representing all areas of business, ranging from large international corporations to smaller regional companies and sole proprietorships. Each member firm is the exclusive representative of their industry so that firms do not have competitors within their chapter.
>>Each member firm may have up to two representatives, who share the responsibility of representing the firm of the chapter. Annual dues and monthly meeting expenses are usually borne by the member firm.
>>Since membership remains with the member firm, it is the company’s responsibility to designate a replacement in the event a representative leaves its employ.

Monthly Meetings — Dinner meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month at various locations, with three meetings a year devoted to chapter and corporate business.

Firm Nights — Member firms are invited to tell their story by sponsoring a “Firm Night” with their chapter representatives. It is a popular public relations vehicle and gives an individual company the opportunity to convey its role in the business community as well as its products, services and ideas.

Recognition — One meeting a year is set aside as an occasion to honor executives of member firms. When appropriate, EWI awards are presented in recognition of an outstanding executive and representative who have given exceptional support to the chapter.

Ways and Means — The Albuquerque chapter raises money throughout the year with proceeds going to support the chapter’s philanthropic objectives. In addition the chapter supports the national organization’s annual philanthropic goal.

Chapter Board — A board of directors, elected annually by the membership, administers the business affairs of each chapter. The officers and directors provide leadership and assistance in carrying out the goals of the chapter.

Committees — Active participation on committees provides an opportunity to become better acquainted with other EWI representatives while increasing the member’s familiarity with the chapter. Each representative is asked to serve on at least one committee throughout the year.
