President’s
Corner
Happy August to you!!!!
We just completed our Annual fundraiser - the Spring
Tea held at Church Street Cafe!
Great food, great company, wonderful Silent Auction
and Fashion Shows by KikaPaprika and Wild Rose.
Thank you all so much for attending with your guests
and participating in this much-needed event that supports the
Philanthropic efforts of our organization!!!
February was a very busy and productive month for EWI.
We began with a very well attended and informative February meeting at
Chama River Brewing. We had speakers from both of the organizations we
are actively involved with. Carole Smith with Join a School
thanked us for our commitment to the students at Hodgin Elementary and
made us aware of the positive impact Join a School has made within the
Albuquerque Public School system. Kim Trinosky with Rebuild
Together Albuquerque shared details of his organization, thanked us
for our participation and reminded us that the rebuilding event will
take place Saturday, April 24 from 8-4. EWI will be assigned a
location and there will be a sign up sheet at our March meeting. Times
will be 8-12 or 12-4 – whatever fits best in your busy schedules.
Thank you to Sarah, Maralie and daughter, Courtney,
Rachel, Susie and Julie for meeting at Business Environments and
putting together the bags of supplies to be given to the first grade
students during the Hodgin Elementary School Reading Rally we will be
hosting this Friday March 5 beginning at 9:00. Please contact Sarah
Spofford if you would like to help.
The 50/50 raffle is well under way (something new for
us this year). Menus are being set and models are being
recruited for our always fun May Spring Tea, which includes a Silent
Auction and Fashion Show. This is the main fund raiser to provide
funds for the programs we support.
We can be proud of ourselves. We are a busy and
productive group… and that’s exactly what EWI strives to be...
involved/connected with each other and active in our community.
Thank you for everything you do to make EWI
Albuquerque a successful and productive organization!
Always,
Sharon
